Highlights: Amboseli – Nairobi & Masai Mara Safari
Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park (250 km – Approx. 3.5 – 4 hours)
(The home of Kilimanjaro Mountain): We’ll head out in our private 4 x 4 Jeep for Amboseli National Park on the Nairobi – Mombasa Highway
Our journey begins traveling over the African savannah with its local farms. You may spot Masai herdsmen in their colourful wraps tending their cattle.
After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive.
We’ll enjoy lunch at our Amboseli accommodation, with time to freshen up and relax.
As promised, the imposing form of Mt. Kilimanjaro dominates the scenery of this small park, where wildlife are often spotted through the sparse scrub.
The afternoon will see us on game drives, and we’re sure to see Amboseli’s famous elephants marching to or from a favorite watering hole.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park.
Early morning is a very special time for a game drive.
You’ll see the park come alive with the first stirrings of wildlife as the gentle early light plays upon the trees and plains.
We’ll have breakfast and then we’re off in our 4 x 4 on another drive looking for lion, cheetah and smaller game like hyena, fox, baboon, and monkey.
Amboseli enjoys a rich palette of birdlife as well – crake, egret, heron, falcon, and eagle have all been spotted at the park’s marshes and lakes.
We can also spot wildlife from the lookout vantage of Observation Hill where we may see buffalo, hippo, pelican and still more avian life below.
As evening approaches, look to Mt. Kilimanjaro as its snowy peak may appear through the breaking clouds.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park.

Day 4: Nairobi National Park.
Drive from Amboseli.
Ololo Safari Lodge, owned and run by an Australian farming family, offers the warmth and comfort of a home with effortless style and personalized service.
Originally an old Kenyan homestead and since converted to a small lodge, Ololo is perfectly situated, on the beautiful banks of the Mbagathi River which forms the southern border of the Nairobi National Park.
The lodge is a mere 45-minute drive through the park from Nairobi and both main airports, yet the lodge’s secluded location feels like a world away.
Set on a productive 20 acre working farm,
Ololo offers the joys of delicious ‘paddock to plate’ fresh ingredients.
With our established and secluded gardens, guests are able to settle in and soak up a unique safari experience.

Day 5: Nairobi – Masai Mara Safari – Flight.
The flight takes around 45 minutes and you fly over the scenically beautiful Great Rift Valley.
On arrival in the Masai Mara you will be met at the airstrip and driven the short distance to camp.
Lunch in camp, then head out for afternoon game drive to explore the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Returning to camp for pre-dinner drinks around the campfire.

Day 6: Masai Mara Safari.
This is Africa at its most serene.
A jewel of a reserve that quietly shows off rich flocks of birds and grazing animals such as waterbuck, zebra, and gazelle.
How lucky to find ourselves in such a heavenly sanctuary!
And now we’re off to the Masai Mara National Reserve, the most popular park in the country.
Your first views of the park will be of its rolling, open spaces, delightful acacia trees and perhaps some early wildlife sightings.
The Mara is known to possess the greatest concentration of wildlife in the region. So, let’s start looking for those Big Five, plus giraffe, zebra, ostrich, and so many others

ENJOY A MAASAI MARA HOT AIR BALLOON FLIGHT – BOOK IN ADVANCE.
At approximately 5:00am, the balloon operating company shall collect you from your safari lodge/ tented camp in one of their custom safari jeeps, for a drive to the hot air balloon launch.
Arrive at the launch site by 6AM, here you can watch the balloons being prepared for take-off as you enjoy a cup of Kenyan tea or coffee.
At the Launch site-there are basic toilet facilities available.
Just before sunrise, at approximately 6:30AM, you shall board the balloon basket.
Breakfast is an experience to remember-full and Kenyan style, complete with fresh juices, eggs-to-order waiters in traditional costume, and, of course, champagne.
Drop off at your lodge.

Day 8: Masai Mara Safari.
Morning game drive.
Flight back to Nairobi.
Airport transfer.
